Charlie Brown Cafe Malaysia at Straits Quay Penang

Charlie Brown Café was newly open at Straits Quay, Penang. I aware of this cafe through news papers and I can’t wait to go and visit the café as seem like very cutie café. However, I just wonder why the café name Charlie Brown instead of Snoopy? Hahaha…after that I only aware actually snoopy is a pet of Charlie Brown.

The interior design of Charlie Brown café was really impress me as it is fully decorated with all the Charlie Brown members who are Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, peanuts gang and etc. You can found all those cutie characters on the wall, celling, any corner of the café. Wah…after visit this café, I only aware there are so many members of Charlie Brown.

I can said that the environment is pretty nice and you will be like back to your childhood if you visit Charlie brown café. You’ll be excited to see all the cutie cartoon characters around you while having meal. However, personal opinion that the food is not really nice and is slightly expensive. If you are seek for yummy foods then I would not recommend Charlie Brown but if you’re seek for nice environment to have coffee and cakes for chit chatting, then Charlie Brown café might be your good choice.

Hihi...I am back to my blog. Feel so sorry about my blog here, such a long time I never update it anymore. Recently I felt I very busy but not sure what I busy with? Work? Personal stuff? Family? Wah…seem like all also have…hahaha…no wonder I have no time to update. Let me update my valentine’s 2011 celebration SIGI’s Bar & Grill, Golden Sands Resort Penang.

SIGI’s Bar & Grill is a cozy and nice restaurant located at Golden Sands Resort, Batu Feringgi. There have a romantic area with the windy sea scenery or you may choose to sit inside with the cozy and relax environment. I went during Valentine’s day 2011 but at 15 Feb but I already forgot what’s the reason behind that we choose to celebrate 1 day delay but is good as it avoid crowded anywhere.

Overall food is nice but it might slightly expensive but the environment is really nice.

So fast 2010 past for nearly a months already. Few days later, will be Chinese New Year. Wish all Happy Chinese New Year and All the best. 新年快乐，事事顺利。。。

How do you do with the New Year? Great celebration? Good start? I had celebrated and welcome come NewYear -- 2011 with all my lovely friends. To avoid the traffic jam, Fern had suggested we have gathering and pork luck at her house. Every time I also very hard to think a food to bring but this time I have a nice food which is dumpling (sui gao). Hahaha…is sell by Fern’s mum. Her mum’s sui gao very nice and all my friends like it too hence should be a good choice for me =)

Again, wish all my friends good luck and all the best in NewYear 2011. New Year, new dream with new&great achievement…heheheh…

This is what I mention just now, yummy dumpling (Sui Gao) located at Air Putih, Air Itam. Just at corner hawker center (Keat Seng). She selling Wan Tan Mee with Sui gao. Fern, correct me if I am wrong for the location...heheh...
The dumpling cost RM0.90 each, size is big enough as the spoon. You can just eat without soup, nice too

Or with soup, for me I like with soup but my colleagues like without soup one...

The dumpling have a very translucent layer of skin as compared to those sold elsewhere. A cut piece of it reveals the succulent filling of prawns and lean meat. This dumpling is subtly flavored with the additional spring onion and carrot slice

Home cook mee teow from chee's mum. Nice too, maybe can have her mum prepare again for next gathering...hehehe

So sad that recently all my post was so out date, really don’t have the free time to upload my food blog on time. This is about Leng’s birthday celebration. We celebrated her birthday on Oct’10 at Tang Steamboat & BBQ Restaurant which located at Rangoon Road, Penang. It is not like our normal steamboat as is quite special in term of food type and soup.

There is offer either buffet style or ala carte meal. Of cause, we took the “All You Can Eat Buffet” which cost just RM22 net per person which includes variety of seafood, meat, side dishes and some of famous Taiwanese’s food like Chao Tofu.

Overall, food is consider nice as able to try out some special dishes and the soup is yummy too. However, service slightly slow, maybe just have 2 person to manage the shop and 1 minor point to highlight here is they keep inform us that it will be penalty if wasted. We pretty aware that wasted is a bad habit and it is strictly not allow but they keep inform us about that, it will become very irritating. Every time when we wish to add on our order, they will ask “are you sure you can finish, it will be penalty if wasted”. haih...

The Loaf Langkawi

I think this is an outdated post as I went this bakery I think few month ago which located at Langkawi. The loaf is a Japanese style bakery & bistro, which is owned by Tun Dr.Mahathir. There are variety of bread you can choose. Its so attract me as every kinds of bread also look so delicious. Besides, the loaf also offers a full a la carte lunch and dinner menu for those who love international cuisine served in such a relaxed ambiance. The ambiance is really good and I like it so much.

Overall, very satisfy with the foods as well as services. However, I did mention below for few dishes as "Must" try item.

Haagen-Dazs is one of my favorite ice-cream but I can’t always enjoy it as consider quite expensive for me. Usually I go there when I have a free voucher. Hehehehe…

Haagen-Dazs fondue is one of their famous item. I saw a lot of customers ordered it. I heard a lot of peoples said the portion is consider quite big for two but I feel just nice, maybe I love ice-cream so much, I think I can even finish it alone…haha..

Happy Dumplings Festival -- 端午快乐

Happy Dumplings Festival…Yesterday after work, one of my lovely friend suggested to go out eat giant rice dumpling that special bought by her. Really thanks her that specially prepared the dumpling so that we have chance to celebrate the dumpling festival at Fern’s house =)

Although is just a short time celebration but is a great time that gather together and have a fun time there. We did enjoyed the yummy giant dumpling, photos shooting as well as playing games together hence need to special thanks to Leng, Fern and Moon (“,)

The Giant rice dumplings (ZongZi or hokkien is Bak Zhang) are glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, or other large leaves (lotus is one of the more commonly used leaves). Btw, these photos taken by Moon as mine one all blur =(

Can see the size of the rice dumpling? is big, I think enough for 8-10 person
While steam the rice dumpling also not forget to compare the size using bottle...heheh

Iron Man 2 is the most awaited movie for me as I feel really nice and amazing for the Iron Man 1. Once I know there is Iron Man II is coming soon at May 2010, such a good news for me...but before go for this movie, still got another great movie is waiting for me...Heheh...that is IP Man 2 which feature Donnie Yen - Hong Kong martial art actor staring Bruce Lee's Wing Chun master. Sawara Steamboat Restaurant located at Burmah Road in Pulau Tikus. The exact location is at the corner shop house directly opposite the Maxim Cake House or the easier is same row as the Baskin Robbins.

This was recommended from my lovely friend – Fern who is the steamboat lover. She is birthday on that day she suggested this restaurant for her birthday celebration. Heheh…she already mentioned she want go for steamboat again for her next year birthday…hehe…hence, if you have any nice steamboat, pls recommend to her. She got an ambition that want to try out all the steamboat in Penang =)

Actually this is my first time visit. I feel not bad with the soup base and dishes especially their homemade fish ball with celery, simply delicious and the portion of the foods are slightly small as can’t have the feeling that very very full. Hehehe…as nowadays I am so use to it with the buffet style steamboat that we can eat. Sawara is serve the ala Card and also the set but only 2 set available which are RM68 and RM128. Since we have around 10 peoples so we go for RM128 and the dishes are homemade fish ball with celery, prawn, fish, taufu, vegetables and etc.

Cili sauce and the garlic. For steamboat chili sauce and garlic paste are very important as it will make the taste been nicer =)

Xian Ding Wei Taiwanese Tea Room newly open next to Sakae at Queensbay. It is a Taiwanese cuisine and I think this is the first Xian Ding Wei at Penang Island. Since I am quite prefer Taiwanese style of food so can’t wait to go in and have it a try. Not sure if just newly open so it is crowded, need to queue for few minutes then only got seats available.

Overall, the environment is not bad but the foods and service are just average. This might due to all of them still new? Maybe can have a visit again when they get more stable. Hehehe…

Time fly very fast, so fast already pass 1 month and I left my blog here nearly 1 month too. Such a busy month for me –March 2010, hopefully April will be a nice month for me. Seem like when peoples grow up, burden will also follow to grow. Suddenly feel like a lot of stuff need to be settle and involve a lot of decision making too =(

Ok, back to the meal. Actually this is my valentine’s meal. Hahah…post it after around 2 months ya. Really busy so that drag until now only post. Haih…still got a lot of meal that I had during CNY but yet post it here, anyway I will try to post it one by one but might slow a bit. Heheh…

Little Cottage located at Burma road and there is another branch called Little Cottage 2 located at waterfall near the Penang Botanical Garden/Youth Park. It serves delicious Western and Italian Cuisine. I been there few time and I like this restaurant as the environment is nice and food delicious too. It has a very warm and romantic ambiance with soft lighting. You may try it out. Heheh…

That day I received a forward mail about the “10 Must Try Penang Street Food”. Hai Onn Restaurant which located at Burma Road is one of the list. After read the recommendation from the email, I am pretty interested on their signature dish which is Hainanese Chicken Chop so I went Hai Onn Restaurant last Saturday. Heheh…

Hai Onn Restaurant is an old style kopitiam which located at Burma road, few shop lot before MEKIO. It served Hainanese foods with quite a low price. There are few signature dishes which is Hainanese Chicken Chop, Hainanese Hokkien Char, Roti Babi and Spring roll (Choon Piah). Unfortunately I only able to tried out 3 signature dishes during my first visit there, I missed out “Roti Babi”. Hmmm…I think I will definitely will have a second visit…Heheh..

Overall I feel the foods are yummy, just the foods served slightly slow but you can see that all the customers there are willing to wait. That mean the foods should be quite nice, right? Don’t worry, there is side dish – Lobak that you can order while you are waiting. Lobak taste nice too…

Restaurant Hai Onn located at Burma Road, Penang. It very famous for the Koay Teow Th'ng (Noodles Soup) and Hokkien Mee (Prawn Noddles) in the morning

The famous one -- Hainanese Chicken Chop
Slightly different from what we usually taste. Eggs, potatoes and tomatoes slices served together with chicken cutlet. It taste nice. I saw some other customers did ordered toast bread to dip into the gravy. It looks yummy too. Maybe can try it next time =)

Family dinner at Jade Blossom located at Krystal Point 2 during the 4th of Chinese New Year. As my sister get some bonus from her company so she decided to treat us a meal hence she ask me to suggest a nice restaurant. Initially I recommend 香香 as I not been there before and heard some good comment about this restaurant. However, she rejected my recommendation as she wish to go the restaurant that more standard and more high class one. Haih....she ask me to think again. Suddenly my mind come out Jade Blossom as I remember I mention before this restaurant seem like quite nice in term of the environment and she agree too as my parents never been there before.

Overall, I feel quite nice for the food but I feel the taste of the food consider quite light, it will be nicer if the taste of the food slightly heavy…heheh…About the service, I feel just average. This might due to we went during CNY so there was full house, they can’t really concentrate on it. Luckily we reserve the dishes and table few days ahead.

@ The Sun is located at the ground floor of the historical Sun Yat-Sen Centre at Macalister Road, Penang. Really can’t imagine that the environment of restaurant is so nice although it located at the busy main road – Macalister Road. The decoration is simple and nice and the dim light ambiance makes the environment feel so relaxing and cozy.
There is small gift boutique just right beside the restaurant. The environment there also very nice and there is mainly for hi-tea purpose. Besides, there is a small gift, souvenir and some of nice craft pieces for sale.

This is my first time at @ the Sun restaurant. Initially I am interested on the Loius Café for my lovely friends birthday celebration but after recommend by Chee so we all agreed and decided to have it a try at here since all of us never been here. Overall, @ The Sun didn’t disappointed me and my friends in term of foods and the services. They provided very good services for us and make us feel so comfortable while having meal there =)

Wish all Happy Chinese New Year in advance.

I had my department CNY lunch at Four Season Restaurant which located at Sunway Tunas. It is located at the corner shop which is behind the Teow Chew Ming. Actually there is main outlet located at town area, Jalan Teregganu.

For me, I quite like Four Seasons as the food there are delicious with reasonable price. One of the most famous dish is the oyster mee. I like it so much, just simply yummy. If you are first time been there, I think this is the “must” dish that you should try it out if you like oyster. Besides, the fried glass noodle and hor fun also one of the nice dish there.

However, we didn’t go for the noodle type of food but we ordered a set lunch which included 6 dishes, daily soup, drinks and fruits.

Although not yet reach the day but we not wish to miss the opportunity to gather together for this celebration and hope it can bring all the good things to all of us. hehehe...

Tropical Spice Garden at Penang

Last Saturday I attended the company team-building at Penang Tropical Spice Garden located between Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Pahang. Is good experience there as currently most of us are stay at town and seldom touch with the nature. The tropical Spice Garden shows us over 500 species of local and foreign flora from Malaysia and around the world. The environment there are nice too as currently a lot of bride and groom choose there as their pre-wedding photos’ location.

Actually the team-building not organize by our own but we looks for the company that professionally doing team-building for the company. They charged as RM80 per person. The package included the entrance fees, breakfast/lunch, guided tour and facilitators. They did offered us few choices for the game and finally we choose for Spice Cook-out activity which start with
1. guided tour that brief us about the garden and let us understand more about the spices and
herds there
2. Assign the group and create own group logo
3. Treasure hunt – hunt for the spices base on the clues that given by them
4. Cooking – this is the most fun parts. Cooks base on the recipe that given by them.

Overall, I like the games as at least something special from what usually we are doing.

4th Game - After successful get all the spices, then need to start cook for our curry base on the recipe. A lot of preparation work before able to start cook

Demax Restaurant newly open I think around Dec'09 located at D'piazza. As we know that currently quite a lot of new restaurant opened at D'piazza so we just simply choose base on our luck to go in for our dinner. Finally we choose Demax Restaurant. Actually had been there more than month ago but now only sharing the food here. U know why? Just simple. I think I will not recommend this restaurant to my friends as I can't feel any satisfaction after had my dinner there and this restaurant will not listed in my food list when I am thinking for my lunch or dinner in future.

We visit there around 7.30pm. Just sit down and we saw one of the customer feel very angry and ask their family member walk out from the restaurant and the boss walk out fast and request them to sit back and the foods been served immediately. From this I have bad feeling that they serve quite slow but I still decide to continue having my dinner there as I saw not much customer left.

They served quite variety of foods like HK style noodle, fried rice, Western Food, special Ala-cart and etc but when we order, all our choice are finish. Haih....so we just choose whatever that still left and some more when I ordered a cup of warm water, the boss told me that their restaurant was not served plain water but they can specially make for me and charged RM 0.60 per cup. I was thinking just a cup of plain water, why need to be so special and feel expensive for that. Overall, I not very happy to have my dinner there as the food served very slow and the food not really suit my taste.

Really speechless for this as from the name I thought they will blend the red bean but unfortunately they just mixed the big red bean with milk and the straw was so small so basically just feel like drink a cup of milk =(

Soba Yoshi (also known as Hanyoshi) is a Japanese Restaurant located at Krystal Point, Penang. I had my lunch with my ex-colleagues there I think 3 days before the Christmas Eve. Actually we planned to have our gathering at 香香 restaurant before going to our holiday but unfortunately it closed on Tuesday so we just simply choose one restaurant to go in. As I heard quite good comments for Soba Yoshi so we just go in without any worry. However, in term of foods and services were just average for me but peoples keep coming in while we are eating, maybe the foods just not suit my taste. Hehehe...

We did ask if there any promotion? But the waitress told us that the promotion only applicable for Privilege Card holder. We don't know what card that she mean so just forget it and continue our meal. Now only I aware that the Privilege Card can be apply through here. You may check it out if you plan to visit Soba Yoshi. Anyway the card not only discount for Soba Yoshi but still have some other restaurant. If not mistaken there is annual fees charge for the card.

Christmas lunch at Tao Authentic Asian Cuisine located at Autocity. Quite busy during year end so drag until now only post the lunch during Christmas. Hahah…even already past the New Year. Actually I been TAO at E-gate for few time but this was my first time visit TAO at Juru Autocity. They start the buffet on 11.30 am but unfortunately I only able to reach there on 12.30 pm as I go after my work so I had missed out to take quite a lot of foods photos..sigh...

Currently Penang have 2 branches of TAO Japanese Cuisine which located at E-gate, Penang Island while another located at Juru Autocity. In term of decoration and space, Auto-City branch is much more larger and the environment is nicer too as there was well decorated if compare with branch that located at E-gate. TAO served for Japanese buffet style but the buffet concept slightly different from the normal buffet style. You can order whatever you want from the menu provided on the tables. Customers can order any items from the variety menu and repeat order was allowed without any limits to fill up your satisfaction. The most wonderful parts at TAO is the food will be serve directly from waiters/waitress to your tables instead of lining up to wait and choose your foods.

Overall I feel is quite nice for the foods and services.

Christmas Special -- there is Christmas special dish that only available during Christmas. Just a normal sushi with something like chicken cordon blue

Salmon Papaya -- Sweet papaya wrapped with smoked salmon. The combination make the taste great. You should try out this...

Motoyaki Scallops -- Grilled scallops with a spicy and creamy sauce. I like this too as the sauce taste very nice. We ordered for second plate =)

Wasabi Sary Abalone -- I like this so muchie. This is my favorite choice for the meal. The QQ-texture abalone slice was fresh enough and with the mayo sauce make the overall feel great. Yummy....Besides, my another favorite Crab Meat with Cheese which I missed out to take the photos. It looks like "wanton" with hot and creamy cheese fillings. We ordered for few time for these 2 items. Must try out...

Sashimi -- I not really like this as I not prefer raw foods

Nemo -- Is good that don't order too much of sushi if you are served with the buffet style as will be full very fast

I had my lunch at Smoky Jack located at Upper Penang road. Since no work so planned go for good food that not usually can go during working time. I heard Smoky Jack quite a long time as its famous on the unusually attention-seeking design. Its comes with a unique interior design which uses recycles item like doors, barrels, faux wooded branches, and I like the most is the huge fiber glass cocoon seats that provide more privacy and romantic.

Overall I like there as food was delicious and they served professionally. Although the portion of food looks small but I believe there is just nice to fill up your stomach.Besides, the cost was great as there is promotion 50% for second set lunch that you ordered. The price range of set lunch is from RM15.80++ until RM28.80++. Is great, right? But not sure when they will stop this kind of promotion. Hope I can visit there again before the promotion stop. Heheh...

Last Sunday I had my breakfast, dim sim at Tuck Sai Cafe with my family. Tuck Sai Cafe located just behind the building formerly known as Federal theater and now already changed to cafe called Federal Place if not mistaken. Why we go there? As I heard that dim sim there is nice and consider cheap so can't wait to have it a try. Overall, I felt satisfy with the foods and the services. Although there quite a lot of peoples but they served you friendly and helpful enough and foods are delicious too.

Dim Sim at Tuck Sai cafe actually consider quite traditional as there is not self-service as other dim sum nowadays in Penang and they didn't used the push car to deliver their dim sum too. Customers just need to sit there and you will be served by waiters/waitress walking around with the bamboo basket that filled with their variety of dim sum. You can just pick and choose your favorite dim sum from the basket. Is so easy...I prefer this style as no need queue for long at the counter to choose the foods...Hehe...

By the way, after paid the bill I feel the price really consider cheap for me as we ate around 36 plates for 5pax and only charged for RM 57. That mean less than RM2.

Korea Palace newly opened at Krystal Point on 11th November 2009. This was the second outlet after their first outlet at Tanjong Tokong. Actually I planned to go visit this restaurant at Tanjong Tokong quite a long time as I heard good comments for it but due to quite far from my area so drag until their second branch...heheh...the location is really convenient for those around FTZ especially during lunch time as got 1 more choice and I scan through the menu, there are set lunch served which I feel the price is still reasonable and affordable as the set lunch are below RM15.

If compared with the DAORAE, I feel the foods and the service was almost the same, both also provided the service to BBQ all the meats and we must at least ordered 2 types of BBQ foods. However, I preferred environment at DAORAE, there is more comfortable for me if compare with Korea Palace.

Anyhow, is good that to make a reservation in advanced to avoid crowded and save some of your time. There are few private room so if you go with many, maybe you can requst for that.

If not mistaken, the 10 types of the the cold dish were Kimchi Cabbage, Fried Eggs, Green Chili, Broccoli with sauce, Bean Sprouts, Pumpkin, Pickled Lotus, Spinach, Salad and Perilla Leaves. Quite a long time I didn't step in A&W as hardly find A&W at Penang recently but it can be found at Gurney Plaza new wing now. Just wonder why A&W cannot famous as McDonald and KFC. Maybe they lack of choices as for me if talk about A&W. I only aware of their Root Beer with float and Coney Dog. Beside these two signature item at A&W, I think i will not have my meal at there.

As not sure what to eat after my movie at Gurney Plaza so finally choose A&W as miss their root beer. The root beer doesn't disappointed me since long time didn't have it. Is great that you add on 1 scoop of ice-cream into root beer. Arhhh....so nice but unfortunately I can't drink too much of soft drink as I am put braces now =(

Root Beer with float -- Root Beer is the MUST beverage if you have your meal at A&W. Is really nice and I missed it so muchie...

Coney Dog -- This also one of the signature item at A&W. The source was slighly spicy. Hmmm...I quite like it but unfortunately sometime the source was not taste good, delicious or not is depends on your luck. I think improvement needed for this area, at least need to standardize the taste of the food.

Black Paper Supreme Dog -- This was just normal with black paper favor. Nothing special...

Curly Fries -- the fries was good. Crispy...taste similar as McD

Hot Milo -- So sad that I not allowed to have too much of my favorite root beer so order another hot milo but the milo was tasteless =(

Just know that Dave Deli at Queensbay Mall is having promotion 30% off all meal from Monday to Thursday (except Public Holiday and weekend). After attended Fern’s Rom, I had nice lunch with all my lovely friends at Inaka Japanese located at Jalan Burmah, Penang. Nowadays, all of us have own stuff to busy with so hardly have lunch or dinner together. So, this is the good opportunity for us to have our lunch but the most headache is where is the good restaurant for us?? Arhhh….we assign this important task to one of our friend, Keat to suggest us few restaurant that he think is good. Very fast, he able suggested few and all of us finally decided Inaka Japanese Restaurant as he gave quite good comment from his first time visit and all of us never be there before.

As I know, Inaka Japanese Restaurant was just opened around 2 months ago at Sept’09. The environment was nice and comfortable for me and we are so lucky that we able to get the private room for 11pax without reservation and some more there is private toilet for us too. Hehehe…Since is first time there, so we get help from a waitress to recommend us the nice foods. She is friendly and nice and foods that recommended by her was yummy too. Overall, all of us were satisfy with the foods, services, environment and we did enjoy our gathering there.

This was under Inaka Ramen Set. All the sets were included chawanmushi, salad and fruits so is quite full if you ordered the set meal from Inaka. This dish was nice but is good that you eat while still hot as the mee become harder when getting cold

Hmmm....this is the one that I not really like. Actually the taste not bad, just all the while I don't like udon

Bottom Line, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory but what should go through in order to reach the final victory? How Ho can escape from the cruel and calculating tactics that scheme by Ling?

Group lunch at Pak Hussin TomYam, Sungai Ara, Penang. Recently boss decided to have at least once group lunch for every quarter. The important is treat by boss. heheh...that mean I have at least one free lunch by quarterly. Haha...how nice, right? Due to we have Malay colleagues in our group so we have to decide on halal food. Luckily I quite like Malay foods so there is no problem for me as I like spicy food. Anyhow, I feel lunch together with own group is a good ideal as at least we can take this opportunity to familiar with own peers but not just talk about work. Through this I believe it can be indirectly help us to work more closely and easily.

Ok, is time to talk about food. Overall, I feel if consider Malay food, Pak Hussin TomYam consider not bad as their service was good and price also quite reasonable, Besides, they had variety of option for the foods. You can either order a la carte or set lunch and set dinner. For us, we took 2 set same set lunch entitle for 10 persons. The set lunch included 5 main course, juice watermelon and rice. This total cost us RM65 per set. How you think? Ok for the price?

Chicken fried with chili -- is nice if eat with the rice

Mango "kerabu" -- I like kerabu but this I feel too sour for me

Hi-Tea at J.CO located at Queensbay Mall. After few hours shopping at Queensbay so need find a place to take a rest. I can not like my friends that able to shop for whole day without take a rest...hahah...maybe I am getting older. Since J.CO was newly opened at Queensbay so we decided to have it a try. Actually J.CO is similar as Big Apple that located at Gurney Plaza. If compare with Big Apple, the taste of donuts actually almost is the same but J.CO go more type of beverages and the environment there also nicer as there was larger and is a good place for friends gathering and chit chat.

Unfortunately, at first I just care to eat the donuts and forget to take all the photos...hehe...From overall, I like the cheese me up the most and glazzy. The glazzy I got it free when I ordered my Mochabella Freeze. I only aware that there is free 1 glazzy donut when you ordered one beverages. Although is free but this sweet honey glazed donuts was really nice as was soft enough with some of the sweetness.

As we got the new member joined our group so he decided to treat all of us lunch. Actually was quite burden to treat all of us as we got 10 members included him but I think should be no problem for him as he was joined as a high position. heheh... Canton-I was recommended by him as he likes the food there. Actually I been there for few time but I always go for their porridge as the porridge was really nice. I like it so much.

Ya, almost forget for something. I only aware that photos shot was not allow at Canton-I. Why? I been there for few time but I never face this issue before. Haih...maybe that day my luck not so good. With the bad luck so I just able to took just few photos as below =(

This was my second time company team building at Sarkies Corner in Eastern & Oriental Hotel. As get very good feedback from the first time so team decided to revisit it again. Unfortunately, we felt first time was better. Maybe due to different type of food as first time we went for Japanese & Chinese Fusion and second time was Roast & Grill but overall i still feel worthy to have a buffet dinner there as food were fresh enough and very well displayed and there were a lot of dessert...Yummy yummy....Besides, I like the environment there too as we always choose to sit outside so we can enjoy the sea view with cold wind when we are eating.

2012 Movie -- "We were Warned"

Movie 2012. Hmmm...initiate I have no interested on this movie as I not prefer to watch the type of disaster movie as seem like human can't control everything and totally depends on the god. This type of movie normally sure end with unhappy ending so I don't like it. We go movie is just for relax and enjoy one but this kind of movie will make me feel sad after watch as everything seem like will be gone for sure...haih...sigh...
However, until i received a forward mail from a friend pertaining to 2012 Movie on the End of the World. The marvelous shots of the mail make me reconsider this movie and the mail said this is most awaited movie of the year and "this movie can turn into reality and predictions can turn up to be true. How true is it? I think none of us have the answer for that...

Have a drink at Coffee Island, Gurney Drive last Saturday with my lovely friends and sister who back from KL. Actually is the second Leng’s birthday celebration. Hahaha…how come got second time? As first time was too early and she didn’t cut any of cake so this time we had a cake for her and take this opportunity to meet all of them as nowadays hard to gather with them as all got their stuff to busy with.

Hmmm….talk about Coffee Island. Actually already been there for few time. Overall, I feel there was not bad as variety of food and I like the environment as very suitable for gathering and chit chat with friends. You can either choose indoor or outdoor. Indoor are suitable for those who prefer air-con condition with warm lighting and outdoor are suit for those who like to enjoy the sea view with open cold wind. For me, is depends on mood of the day...heheh

From Ginna's blog, we had decided to have it a try for Leng's birthday celebration last weekend. Due to hard to arrange time for all our lovely friends, so forced to celebrate slightly earlier for Leng's birthday. Hmmm...i think around 2 weeks ahead. Feel so " pai seh" to her ya. Hope she don't mind about that. Hehe...

Ok, back to the foods at Cia Xiang. Overall I satisfy with the food as some dish that we ordered was yummy and the way they cooked was unique. If you like seafood, I think Cia Xiang is the one that worthy for you to have it a try.

Steam Fish 菜蒲蒸鱼尾 (RM56) -- I quite like this as the fish was fresh enough and got the "hor fun" hide under the fish. Hmmm....nice...
Prawn with Coconut 雪地藏龙 (RM45) -- This dish was absolutely yummy. I like it so muchie. First I like the prawn and second the combination was just perfect. Just know that it can be taste so nice by cooked this way....must try it out, i feel unique but some of my friends said taste weird...hahaha...food really depends one...

Last weekend, my sis back from KL in conjunction with Deepavali celebration. Since long weekend so she suggested to made own sushi as she is one of the sushi lover as well as her “bear bear”. Of course she had her special “shi fu” just beside and guided her. I just sit beside and learn together. Actually is quite fun to made the sushi but got a lot of work preparation to come out those yummy sushi. Luckily, my family all comment taste very nice and said is up to the standard. Heheh….Maybe I can do it myself next time to make sure I had passed the sushi course…hahah…

Preparing for the sushi rice:

Ingredients: 500 ml Sushi Rice, 60 ml Rice Vinegar, 30 ml Sugar, 5 ml Salt

(Note: the amounts used in the vinegar mixture may vary depending on the individual sushi taste)

1. Wash the rice several times until the water runs fairly clear when draining. Let your wash rice strain for 30 minutes. Transfer the rice to rice cooker and add the measured water.

2. Cook the rice. While the rice is cooking, combine the vinegar, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl.
3.When the rice is done, let it stand for about 15 minutes.
4. Place the rice in the tub and slowly pour the vinegar mixture evenly over the rice. Use the wooden spatula in a slicing motion to thoroughly blend the rice and vinegar mixture. Be careful not to press the rice with the wooden spatula.
5. Keep the tub in a covered container maintaining its temperature around body temperature.
6. Sushi rice done and can start made the sushi base on your ingredient.

Recommended by friends and some of blog’s comment so had a friend’s birthday celebration at Vintage Bulgaria that located next to Ingolf,Tanjung Bungah. From the name, you can know that there is Bulgaria cuisine. When we just arrived at the restaurant, the waiter just served us to the lower ground of the shop. The warm lighting and the interior design made the environment cozy and cottage-like. Hmm…very suitable for a romantic meal. Btw, there is upper floor which has both dining and bar area. This area is more suitable for the events or friends gathering.

Overall I like the environment and I like the food too =)

Bulgarian Shashlik (Chicken or Pork) RM61 -- Skewered meat and vegetables grilled to perfection. The taste was nice but feel like the portion slighly big but for the meat favourite like me sure have no problem. Heheh...
SeaFood Platter (RM65) -- An assortment of cooked prawns, fish fillets, squid and mussels. I like the mussels and prawn so muchie. The taste was good and the seafood was fresh enough. Yummy...

Dessert of the day. You can refer to server when you order for the set dinner. Maybe we are full at the end so i felt this was just a normal cake, nothing special

绿茶红豆蛋糕 -- GreenTea with Azuki Bean

Attracted by the Bread History Green Tea cake so decided to bake one for my special friend birthday. Finally I found a recipe from 酷可可 after I search few blogs for this recipe. A bit nervous as this is my first time bake a cake for friend’s birthday so the outlook of the cake was not that good but I got a good comment for the taste. Heheh…Maybe I can try to bake again and make some improvement for the cake decoration =)

Green Tea Azuki Bean Cake:

材料A：自发面粉120g（过筛），绿茶粉2大匙（过筛），幼砂糖70g，蛋黄5个，沙拉油60g，鲜奶3大匙
Material A: Self-raising flour 120g (sift), green tea powder 2 tablespoons (sift), caster sugar 70g, 5 egg yolk , salad oil 60g, milk 3 tablespoons
材料B：蛋白5个，幼砂糖60g，塔塔粉1/4小匙
Material B: 5 Egg white , caster sugar 60g, cream of tartar 1 / 4 tsp
装饰：打发鲜奶油适量 (300ml)，蜜红豆适量
Decoration: to pass the amount of fresh cream, red bean amount of honey
1. 蛋黄+70g幼砂糖打发至颜色变浅后，加入沙拉油，鲜奶，拌匀。
Yolk +70 g sugar whisk until the color become lighter, add salad oil, milk and mix well.
2. 将自发面粉，绿茶粉过筛后轻轻拌入蛋黄糊中，拌匀备用。
Add sifted self-raising flour and green tea powder into batter, gently stir in the batter until mix well and ready for later.
3. 蛋白打至起泡后分次加入60g幼砂糖，塔塔粉，打至企身
Whisk the egg white until see the egg white foam, fractionate add in the 60g caster sugar, cream of tartar and whisk until stiff and glossy
4. 将1/3的蛋白糊加入蛋黄糊中轻轻拌匀
Add 1 / 3 of the egg white into the batter and gently mix well.
5. 倒入剩余的蛋白糊，轻轻拌匀，小心不要将空气都压坏了。
Pour the remaining egg white paste, gently mix well.
6. 将面糊倒入已抹上油的8寸四方烤盘里，以180度烤约30-35分钟即可取出倒扣待凉。
Pour the batter into 8-inch pan, then bake 180 degrees about 30-35 minutes and wait the cake cool completely
7. 蛋糕横切成3片，涂上打发鲜奶油，撒上蜜红豆，盖上另一层蛋糕片，重复此动作直到蛋糕片用完。
Slice into 3 layers, coated with the whipping cream, sprinkle with honey red beans, covered with another layer of cake pieces, repeat this action until you run out of cake pieces.
8. 最后，在蛋糕表面再涂上一层打发鲜奶油后即可开始修边。
Finally, coated one more layer of whipping cream on the surface and start trimming.
9. 将切出来的蛋糕边边磨碎后撒在奶油上即可。

Grind the cake that cut out just now, sprinkle it on top of cream. Done!!

Hard Rock Hotel newly open at Penang and also the first Hard Rock in Malaysia. They just launched and celebration the opening on the19th Sept 2009 in Batu Feringgi. I went there last Tuesday as no work on that day so went there to take a look and took some photos since there is very “hot” location recently at Penang.

Hmmm…overall, I feel the environment quite comfortable and cozy especially the massive free from pool. The 26,000 square feet free form pool comes with sand island, water slides and luxurious poolside cabanas. So nice if able to stay and enjoy there. Just simply go and ask for the room availability, Unfortunately there was fully booked for Oct’09. So, if you have any plan to enjoy there, then might need to book earlier.

I think this was my third time visited OXO Cafelab restaurant that located nearby Queensbay Mall. I went there last week for friends gathering during lunch time. From 1st and 2nd time been there, I just feel foods and service there not that good, just very nice in term of environment as there was very well decorated and is a place that suit for gathering, birthday party, annual dinner and etc. However, from last week lunch, I felt the service and foods there did improve some, maybe we went in the right time which was not crowded. So, overall I felt quite satisfy with my lunch there.

Actually OXO Cafelab serves a variety of cuisines like Asian, Western and Oriental. By the way, they did served breakfast too start from 9am.

Japanese Style Mooncake -- 手信坊

Few days ago, my parents received a slightly special mooncake which is Japanese style mooncake. The mooncake looks so different from our traditional (Chinese) mooncake. It is Japanese style handmade, can be refrigerated, can be frozen, soft clear skin and the filling can be seasonal fruit or any of sweet fruit. Hmmm…how about the taste? Honestly indeed it looks so nice but the taste I not so like it, maybe I still prefer our Chinese style mooncake. Hehe…

中秋节快乐！！ With the Festival Mooncake is going to near, so I plan to make a mooncake for a try. I get a recipe from 酷可可.She really clever on cooking. She make few type of mooncake but since I’m just first time so I choose the easier one -- 香橙罂粟仔冰皮月饼. Hehe… Would like to take this opportunity to thanks her as I did seek advice from her. Thanks to her patient and kindness. =)

Actually this is my second try on this mooncake although this type of mooncake can be consider the most easy as it can be done without the egg beater and oven. Actually the taste was the same if compare to first time, just outlook improve some. Heheh…so, maybe you can have it a try before Festival Mooncake =)

Recipe :-

材料A：糕粉100g，糖粉100g ( KOH Flour 100g, Icing sugar 100g)
材料B：白油40g，橙皮屑1大匙，淡奶2大匙，罂粟仔10g (White Oil 40g, Orange dander 1 tablespoon, evaporated milk 2 tablespoons, Poppy Seed 10g)
材料C：橙汁50ml，冷水100ml (Orange Juice 50ml, Cold water 100ml)
馅料：莲蓉适量(Lotus with suitable amount base on your mooncake mold)

1. 将材料A放入大碗，加入材料B拌匀
(Put the material A into big bowl, add material B and mix well)
2. 倒入材料C拌成软团，分13等份，每份约30g
(Pour material C and then mix it until become like a dough, sub it into 13 equal portion, each about 30g)
3. 将做法(2)包入馅料，搓圆后收紧。
(Take the (2) package into stuffing, rub it round shape and then tightened.
4. 将(3)放入撒上糕粉的月饼模，压紧，敲出，一直重复直到材料用完
(Get the (3) and put into the mooncake mold, press it tight and get it out, repeat until the material finish)
5. 将月饼放进冰箱冷藏即可
(Put the mooncake into refrigerator for around 2 hours)

Went to watch the G-Force last weekend. I quite like it although I felt the story line not really very meaningful and attractive but I felt the animation of the movie are good and each of the character very cutie. Each of their character have their expertise….Hmmm….slightly same as G.I.Joe I feel. Anyway, I satisfy with this movie, maybe you can plan to watch it if you like animation type of movie.

Attracted by Ck’s blog so I also went to try it out last weekend with few of my lovely friends. Heheh…luckily Shiong know the way to reach there if not, not sure I will easily reach there just base on the map that provided by CK? Anyhow, as suggested is nice to have hi tea there so we reached there around 4pm. Was so surprised that there are quite a lot of peoples there but they are almost done with the meal. Maybe lunch time will be more customers.

Overall, I felt the food and dessert was just normal but the environment was nice. The decoration of shop make so cozy and such a relaxing place when having meal there and is good environment for chit chat but will be perfect if add on some soft music. Hahah….(this is our own opinion).

Ocean Treasures (RM16.90) - Baked crab in creamy mushroom sauce. Served with fresh garden salad and hash brown. The baked crab I felt just normal but the hash brown was nice as very crispy. I like it...

Crème Brulee (RM9.90) - When u take a spoon and hit on the crème Brulee, got some cracking sound…hahaha…feel so nice. However, It is indeed very nice but why they didn’t burn the top in front of us? Maybe need to request before confirm our order for this

Song River café that located at Gurney drive was my mum’s favorite restaurant for Sunday breakfast. Sunday is my family day so I will having my breakfast with parents and sometime really can’t think of a good place at town area for breakfast then my mum will suggest Song River at Gurney Drive. Hmmm…of course I like there too so usually I have no objection with the suggestion. Hehehe… Sometime, my friends from outstation, this is one of my favorite café for their b/fast too.

Actually Song River famous of the Bak Kut Teh but I never try it as my mum don’t like the “White” Bak Kut Teh. She said the clear soup of Bak Kut Teh doesn’t looks nice and not attractive enough. Btw, she likes Claypot Fish head Bee Hoon Soup the most. Usually, we ordered fish head that without fried so able to feel the fish head was very fresh and sweet. Besides, we have some default dishes when we visit there. Hmm…all yummy yummy =P

Celebrated mum’s birthday I think 2 weeks ago at Foong Wei Restaurant(风味) that located at Jalan Sri Bahari. As not so free for these few weeks so drag until now only post. I think mum will not mind about this. Hehe..

Is good to have a reservation in advance as there was always pack with peoples so we had booked for 3 tables few days ahead before we visit there. You can either ordered according the dishes that you preferred or ordered a set dinner base on their menu. We had ordered set dinner and changed some dishes from the set. The set dinner we ordered cost RM 268 which included 7 dishes and drink all you can. I think the price was consider quite ok for me and overall the food was quite nice too and can consider satisfy. Heheh..Maybe you can have a try during lunch time or your dinner.

Salad Prawn --Among all, I like this the most. Prawn just big enough and you can feel the prawn was fresh. Prawn lover like me must try this =)

Sea Cucumber with Source& Baccoli -- This is my dad's favourite dish. Actually not bad as I like baccoli. Hehe...besides, also got mushroom and something like Jelly Fish

Roaster Chicken -- This was just normal

Freid Mee Hoon --Not bad too, got a lot of vege, meats and eggs

Honeydew with ice-cream-- my nieces, nephews favourite. Feel good with ais dessert. Actually this dessert was one of the dish that we requested to changed.

Special Long Chinese Cruller (特长油条王）

Do you know there is yummy Chinese Cruller or Fried Bread Stick and also known as You Tiao that located at Paya Terubong, Penang? Actually I knew this special you tiao from one of my forward mail but I don’t know the exact location until my sis bring me go that day. Heheheh…Finally I able to try it =)

If not mistaken, the business hour should be 1pm -6pm. So, we reached there around 3pm, just nice right? Actually you can either take away or having there. As we are first time been there, so we enjoyed the yummy yummy You Tiao over there. Firstly, I doubt on the taste as there was not much customer but after that just notice that, a lot of peoples are just drive through and take away the you tiao. The exact location is just at the roadside, opposite the 1997 kopitiam so actually is quite convenient to “ta pao” there.

Overall the cruller was simply crunchy and delicious but I think is good to taken when it is fresh to make sure the crispiness. At present, there are only two types of crullers available there which is the Extra Long Cruller and the Black & White Sesame Twin (similar like Horse Shoe Shaped Sweetened Crullers) but the extra long cruller can be stuffed with various type of favor like Meat Floss and Mayonnaise, sausage, tuna and kaya, butter and etc. You can actually choose your own combination base on your taste. Impress right??

Cruller with Sausage and Mayonnaise (rm2.50). Hmmm….this favor not bad. The combination sausage with mayonnaise and chili source was just nice. I think kids will like it much

Soya Bean was available there (rm1.00). After ate with the crunchy cruller, feel just nice with the soya bean. Hehhe…

Actually visit few time at Max Gourmet that located at Bayan Bay (just opposite Queensbay) but this is my first time there after they changed the menu. I had heard some bad comment after they changed the menu as more expensive if compare to the previous one.

Hmmm…from my own comment, I feel not bad for the food and the price still fine but if compare to last time, will be slightly expensive. Although received few bad comment about this Max but there is almost full house when I'm there on Thursday so if you plan to go during lunch time even not a weekend also be advise to make it more earlier.
As I know there is new branch that just open not long time ago at 7th floor at Gurney Plaza, Penang. For those that seldom go Bayan Lepas area, might have a try at Gurney.

Max got various type of dim sum but as i went during lunch time so i didn't ordered any of it =( Heard that their dim sum not bad, maybe can go for b/fast next time....

My Lovely Wisdom Teeth

I would like to say goodbye to my lovely wisdom teeth. Today wake up quite early as plan to go see dentist and extract my teeth as heard some old peoples said, is good to extract teeth during morning but I not sure about the real reason and I just follow whatever that is good to me. Heheh…
Actually decided to put braces on Oct so need to remove all the unnecessary teeth but my wisdom teeth is not category in the “unnecessary” teeth but unfortunately it was in bad condition so need to remove too before put the braces. Sob sob…I’m very scare on extract teeth but orthodontist told me I need to remove total 4 teeth in order for me to put the braces and included my bad wisdom teeth, total 5 teeth I need to remove before Oct’09. Therefore, it can be said that this is my 1st out of 5 that I extracted.

Dentist consumed around 40 minutes then only successful to remove my wisdom teeth and there was small operation needed to pull out my teeth so she cost me RM400. Haih...not only mouth pain, teeth pain but heart painful too =(

Anyhow, 4 more to go for me so every weekend on Sept’09, I will just appointment with dentist. =’(
Wish me all the best ya…Hope I am able to go through all this hard time...heheh…

Nippon Yataimura @ Queensbay Mall

That day went for Nippon Yataimura that located at Queensbay for my lunch with my lunch mates. Don’t why recently quite frequent go for Japanese food during lunch time. I had tried the same branch at Pulas Tikus but this was my first time visit Yataimura since it open at Queensbay.

Hmmm…overall I felt the food is just so so…not really very nice..heheh…Maybe you can have a try if you never visit there in case you have different taste with me.

My colleague comment just so so...

Katsudon--rm14. I feel not nice for this as the pork was too hard and overall was too dry, i prefer Sakae Sushi...heheh

This not chargeable too as we try to return it and they purposely mention to us...hehe

Friday lunch at Japin, Queensbay mall. It is a Japanese style restaurant and located at North Zone Level 3. I feel that area was quite silent as less peoples are passing there, hmmm…don’t why…
Actually we are celebrating birthday with SK but belated one day…heheh…hope our lovely SK don’t mind about that as majority of us only able to make it during Friday lunch time.

Hmm…as for me I feel the food was just average and they served quite slow. We wait about 20-30 minutes for the set and I saw some customers left the restaurant half way due to too slow of the food. So, if you are run out of time, better go for other restaurant.

Home's Cafe White Coffee, D'Piazza Mall

Today one of my colleague was so desired about nasi lemak so she ask me to suggest where to have it during our lunch time. I had suggested 2 places which are Old Town and Home Café White Coffee. Due to they never been Home Café before so we opt for this.

Home Café white Coffee was located at D’Piazza Mall which is a new building nearby Sunshine. Overall, I felt the environment and foods there was considered not bad and with quite reasonable price. Maybe u can have a try when you have no idea about your lunch or dinner nearby this area. =)

My favorite drink, Hazelnut White Coffee with cold and hot, rm 3.80 & rm3.40, i like this drink so muchie, very nice...if you go, must try. Maybe your taste will be same as me =)

Nasi Lemak with curry Chicken and Fried Chicken, rm6.30. i always will choose the fried chicken, not because the curry taste no good but just due to i like fried one...hehe

Cheese Toast, rm4. taste good also. I like it too =)

Yesterday, I’m the first time invited to go in hall to attend the convocation. Felt like a bit old already as I had invited to sit in the parents area when I’m go in, haih….=(
Really make me recall back when I’m the one that graduated, time fly very fast, already few years back.

Actually is quite boring sitting inside for around 1 and the half hours, luckily they end faster than estimation. When half way, I’m thinking secretly walk out from the hall but failed as was so strict, a lot of pegawai take care each entrance =(
